Description

Jalapeño Simple Syrup adds a spicy-sweet kick to cocktails, lemonades, mocktails, and marinades. With just three ingredients, it’s an easy way to infuse bold flavor into your favorite drinks and dishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 fresh Jalapeno Peppers thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved, then turn the heat to medium-low.
  2. Stir in jalapeno slices. Simmer over medium-low heat for five minutes.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat. Steep for 20 minutes, then strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer.
  4. Store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Add a teaspoon of vodka to extend to a month.

Notes

  • Adjust heat by leaving jalapeños whole (milder) or slicing with seeds (hotter).
  • Strain well after simmering for a smooth syrup.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks in a sealed jar.
  • Pairs beautifully with tequila, lime, and citrus-based drinks.
